Bay Search and Rescue, represented by Helen Clarke and Brian Whitehouse, received £250. The charity is staffed by a team of volunteers, who are trained to a high standard, regularly supporting the emergency services throughout the north of England. Reverend Canon Brian Pithers gave a presentation on the work of the national RAFA and the importance of supporting the local branch, who hold regular meetings at the Headway Hotel, Morecambe. The WM of Warton Lodge Frank Senior, mentioned in his introduction to Brian that the donation of £250 was not just for the association but was also made in memory of his brother who was a Mason and a member of the RAF. For more information on RAFA see their website at;- www.rafa.org.uk/morecambe-lancaster

The master of the lodge in introducing the Reverend Robin Figg mentioned the association with Warton Lodge and St Oswald’s Church, for four of its founding members were members of the church and discussions at the close of a morning service led to the formation of the lodge. The church stained glass window, which is part of the Warton Lodge crest is in need of urgent repair and the donation of £500 was towards this project. After the presentations were completed the charity representatives were invited to partake in the festive board, at which the members of Warton Lodge, their ladies and guests were in attendance.
