Calling all light blues

On Wednesday 11 September 2019, members all lodges (who are Master Masons and above) within the Universities Scheme, are once again cordially invited to attend the first scheme visit to the UGLE Quarterly Communication.

Quarterly Communication (QC) is an official meeting of the governing body of Freemasonry (UGLE) and is always presided over by one of the rulers of the Craft (the Grand Master, Pro GM, DepGM or AGM).

At QC, the business of Grand Lodge is transacted. This includes accepting the formation of new Lodges, mergers of Lodges, as well as Lodges handing in their warrants. Business with foreign Grand Lodges is also dealt with, and at each meeting Grand Masters from across the world attend to represent their country’s Grand Lodge.

Meetings also include update from the Masonic Charitable Foundation as well as the Board of General Purposes. The meeting is also usually addressed by a well-known Mason who speaks on a chosen topic normally of Masonic interest.

Last year the event was a great success, and is simply aimed to bring members from across the Scheme together.

After the meeting itself we will be hosting tables at the official lunch, a fantastic opportunity to meet and socialise with fellow scheme members, as well as the committee. Following this there will be a tour of the library and museum, a great chance to further explore one of the most beautiful buildings in London.

Whilst the event is aimed primarily at members of University Scheme Lodges, undoubtedly there may well be interest from other younger members in the Province whether individually or through a ‘Light Blue Club’. To that end, they are also most welcome to book in and attend with us.
